THE FACE BEHIND THE LENS

Firstly,

I am SO grateful that you chose me as your wedding photographer. I cannot wait to join you and the people who love and support you the most, I really am so excited! Please do keep in touch as you're planning, think of me as an extra bridesmaid - I love to celebrate the mini milestones with you!

Wedding photography is waaay more than just a job for me, I love what I do, and each wedding is so personal - I want this day to be perfect for the two of you! After photographing many weddings over a number of years, I have accumulated quite a bit of insider info on the how's and what's of a wedding day, and am here to share it with you.

While I am always just a message away, hopefully this guide will answer many of the questions you may have, and act as something to refer back to as you go.

what happens now?

01  /  THE IN BETWEEN

Let’s connect! Go find me on Instagram or Facebook - I love getting to know you better!! I'd love to introduce you to other wedding professionals if you're after any recommendations, and I'm always on hand if you need any help or advice, just ask!

02  /  SIX WEEKS BEFORE

I’ll be in touch to get all the deets of your day! You can include anything you want me to know, any photo requests and your vision for your day - I want to hear it all! I’ll also be sending your final payment invoice at that time.

03  /  ONE WEEK BEFORE

I’ll be back in touch to check if anything has changed and make sure I have all the finalized details. At any point, we can also hop on a call and chat through any questions or ideas you may have (and iron out any pre-wedding nerves)!

04  /  ON THE DAY

It's YOUR day! Don't sweat the small stuff - it will fly by before you know it. Pop the cork, have a celebratory champagne spray, and look around at all the people who are there to celebrate YOU! I’ll be capturing everything, so hide that phone away and be present.

05  /  THE FOLLOWING DAYS

I'll choose a selection of my favourite images and moments from your day to share with you in a sneak peek gallery. You can share these on social media, use them for thank you cards, and shout out to the world that you are married!!

06  /  6-12 WEEKS AFTER

Your full gallery of professionally edited photos from your wedding day will be shared with you both, and are yours to download, share and print to your heart's content.. FOREVER! Why not invite the bridal party round for a big reveal?

"I'M SO AWKWARD IN FRONT OF THE CAMERA"

PRE - WEDDING SHOOTS

If I had a penny for every time someone said this to me, I'd be able to fund your wedding..

Haha I joke.. BUT, it's a reaaally common thing. Pre-wedding shoots are the best way to just totally eliminate that, and have one less thing to worry about on your big day, without any strict timelines to stick to, or awaiting guests.

it's an experience in itself

We will make memories and have them documented forever!! Not only that, but it gives you another little something to look forward to with all the excitement in the lead up to your wedding!

INSPIRATION

It’s a great idea to create a vision board for your wedding day – this means you can pull together all your ideas into one place and make sure everything fits in a cohesive way. What’s the best way to do this? Pinterest

Start by searching your keywords (such as “chic wedding”) and scroll through endless content, pinning all your favourite ideas onto well-organised boards to refer back to. You can have a board for your flowers, your dress, your reception etc. It’s even worth planning out your colour pallet at this point too – you can keep this theme running through from your invites to your flowers!

Select ‘secret board’ to keep all your ideas hidden away from anyone else’s eyes so you can surprise them all on the day!

Your boards can be shared with your suppliers to help give them a visual representation of how you’d like your day to look – this makes collaborating ideas MUCH easier and they will be able to make recommendations to help you achieve your vision!

Once you’ve planned out the different sections of your day, you can pull all your favourite ideas from each board into one final mood board.

Sometimes we know we like an image, but we don’t know exactly what it is about that image that we like. This helps you identify common themes throughout your boards and refine your ideas. And it’s SO easy to do!!

my BIGGEST piece of advice?

Your mindset it sooo important on your wedding day. Slow down and enjoy it! The day itself will be over in the blink of an eye, and all you’re left with are the memories (and the photos!) – so let's make them epic!

“don’t sweat the small stuff”

Your wedding day is not the time to worry about if the flowers are the perfect shade, or if it’s going to rain. What will be, will be - some of the most memorable celebrations have been on rainy days! The couple set the tone for the day – if you walk in stressed or negative, your guests will soon follow suit. Likewise, if you arrive ready to immerse yourself in the celebrations, kick off your heels and have a party, I promise everyone else will hop on board!!

let's talk timelines..

Give yourself time!!! When planning your timeline, one thing to remember is things almost aaaalways take longer than you think they will! Allow some contingency time between events so you have a moment to breathe and don’t feel hassled. I want to capture the two of you as your most true selves, and this won't be possible if you're feeling flustered. I can't stress enough - you won't believe how quickly time flies on your wedding day!

I would recommend looking into a wedding planner, especially if you’re doing a DIY wedding - this will alleviate a lot of stress! They know exactly how a wedding day goes and will think of all the little things that keep the day running smoothly, from when to light the candles, to managing the timings so you can be fully present and avoid clock watching. If you decide against a wedding planner, but need advice with anything, do give me a shout!
